Where Is Borley Rectory?

0

Reverend Henry Bull and his family built the Borley Rectory in the year 1863 on the site of an old Benedictine Monastery. This place was believed to be haunted and is one of the most controversial incidents in Britain. It was believed that the rectory was haunted by a ghostly nun who had fallen in love with a monk. They eloped but were caught and brought to justice. The monk was killed and the nun was walled up inside the convent. Since then she haunts the rectory. The apparition of the ghostly nun is supposed to have been witnessed by not only the sisters of Harry Bull, the rector during 1920’s and 1930’s but also by several local inhabitants. Moreover the rector also happened to pass away in the same room in which the nun was supposed to have been walled up. But there are several others who disbelieve this story and are of the opinion that the rectory was used for some malpractices and put to misuse. Thus the Bolrey rectory is a place rife with controversy, intrigue and tragedy.
