Where is Southern Miss positioned?
Over the past few weeks it began to appear that Southern Miss is in a better position than long believed. While some C-USA athletic directors have been very vocal in the media about positioning their programs for the next round of realignment, Richard Giannini seems to have been quietly working behind the scenes. “We discuss the realignment possibilities all the time,” Giannini said. “You have to stay on top of the various scenarios.” Giannini declined to mention who he frequently talks with about those possibilities. But, a bit of research into his resume and cross-referencing it with other resumes that can easily be found online it becomes clear that Giannini has direct prior working relationships with some of the biggest players in this entire game.
