Is U.S. a DEMOCRACY or PLUTOCRACY?

The US is a republic. If it were a true “democracy” every bill that came out of congress would have to be put to a public vote, and every vote would be worth the same. We elect representitives to vote on our behalf. Unfortunately, the people whom we elect to represent us very rarely live up to their promises. It doesn’t matter if they have a D or a R next to their name, they only serve to further their own interests and the interests of the wealthy elite that control the country. Is it a surprise to anyone that most politicians have all gone to the same IVY league schools, and have all mostly been lawyers, businessmen or politicians throughout their lives? What really seperates one politician from the other besides the letter next to their name. If we want true change it will have to come from common people, not Washington.
