How Do You Clean A Backpacking Tent?
Cleaning a backpacking tent is not difficult if you approach it the right way. Tents are an inexpensive and practical shelter for overnight backpacking trips. They are extremely portable and easy to set up. Unfortunately, it doesn’t take long for them to get mildew and other forms of grime that need to be removed. Fill a tub with a household cleaner and water. Just about any general cleaner will work. Pine-scented cleaners are a bonus as they will help eliminate any foul odors that have built up over time. Once the tub is full, place all of the tent components in the water. Do not leave anything out. Include the rain fly, poles and stakes as well as all bags and containers. Let all the tent components soak in the cleaner and water mixture for at least an hour. As you will not be individually scrubbing anything, make sure the cleaner has ample time to work.
