For the 12 months work experience (as a medication aide in an ALF), does it have to be 12 months without a break? If I am out on maternity leave for 2-3 months, would I still qualify?

This is an option that is available to applicants with experience as a medication aide working in ALFs until December 31, 2008. Each case is considered on an individual basis. A legitimate reason to be out on medical leave would not automatically disqualify you for this option. Please provide the information that feel meets the requirements or contact someone at the Medication Aide Registry for further clarification. Please remember that this requirement is available to experienced medication aides. If you do not feel that your work time has adequately prepared you to take the state exam, you may want to consider taking the 68 hour course.
