How Do You Attach A Crank Bait?
Crank baits are typically constructed of hard plastic or wood and are designed to imitate fish found naturally in a particular area. These baits will feature the shape and coloring of such bait fish as brim, perch, various minnows, and fingerlings of various species. Cranks are attached to fishing line by means of a knot which is tied to specifically provide the strength and durability required for repeated casting, retrieval, and stress associated with fishing. Hold the crank bait with one hand so the metal line eye is positioned upward. In the other hand, hold the fishing line so that the tag, or free end, is held with or near the fingertips. Feed the free end of the line through the eye of the crank bait. Pass the line through the opening so that 3 to 4 inches of line extends past the eye.
