What is the NU Drum Line?

0

The NU Drum Line (NUDL) is the percussion section of the pep band. It is not a separate student group, but a section within the pep band. They perform cadences at pep band events, as well as some separate NUDL-only gigs. Members must attend all pep band rehearsals and events (except for basketball, when drumset is used), as well as separate NUDL rehearsals and performances (usually twice per week). All percussionists in the pep band are strongly encouraged to join NUDL, although it is not required. Regardless of if they are in NUDL or not, all percussionists in the pep band must audition for placement. All percussionists in the pep band must also attend special rehearsals to learn the parade cadences for Homecoming and Memorial Day, whether they are members of the NUDL or not.
