First, Almost everything 1971 and later is $.50. I use almost because there can be minting varieties and so on, but in general, nothing. I would start at the Library. Get the Red Book (guide to U.S. coins). They will show the coins by type and date. You can see Identify your coin and see if the date and mint mark are rare. It will show you where the mint marks are and give a guideline on how to grade the coins. You will not get those last two from a web site, so I suggest hitting the library. If you can’t check it out, it can be bought for $10 from a coin store (you can get last year’s copy for less, and in the end it will do the same for you. The prices are inaccurate, but are a good guideline for what is rarer then normal and how much rarer than normal is it). I would not use Ebay as a price guide because the prices there are all over the map.
