Where did the Spyware come from?

0

From my experience as a tech, I’ve seen the nastier Spyware come from web sites that are the “dark side” of the internet. This include music trading programs (the illegal kind), porn sites, gambling sites, hack sites and such. If all you do is check your e-mail (and you have a good antivirus checker on your e-mail) and look up stock quotes, you are not at high risk for Spyware. But don’t be oblivious to what the teenager in your home is doing. I know that when I see a computer with a “Bear Share” icon on it (Bear share is a program that lets you trade music and other files for free) this machine is going to have a Spyware infestation.
