How long does the approval process take?
A. Applications submitted online are usually processed by the end of the next business day. If you provide us with an e-mail address, we can let you know just as soon as a decision is made. Also, once you submit an online application, we’ll provide you with a user ID and password so that you can return and check on the status of your application whenever you wish. It is recommended that applicants contact Higher Education Services before embarking on the approval process. Applicants should allow about eighteen months in total: at least ten months from their submission of an application to a decision being made by the Minister, and an additional three to six months for marketing the course subsequent to approval.
Manitoba Student Aid recommends that you apply for student aid well in advance of your program start date. It takes four to six weeks to review and process the institution’s documents once they arrive in our office. You should allow an average of twelve weeks to allow time for the institution to respond, and for Manitoba Student Aid to process the information.
