How Do You Paint Textilene Fabric?
Textilene fabric is widely used in outdoor furnishings, from hammocks and chairs to awnings and table umbrellas. This polyester or vinyl-coated mesh fabric provides excellent shade properties and durability when subjected to the outdoor elements. Some manufacturers increase the value of their Textilene products by applying treatments that protect the fabric from UV exposure and mildew. While the shape and strength of Textilene fabrics will withstand the weather, the color can eventually fade when constantly exposed to direct sunlight. Wash the Textilene fabric thoroughly with a solution of one cup of mild dishwashing or laundry detergent, one cup of bleach and three gallons of water. Use a scrub brush or scouring pad to gently work at any set in dirt, then wipe down the entire surface of the fabric with the detergent solution.
