How does a Radial Engine Work?
A radial engine has its cylinders laid out in a circle around the crank. One of the cylinders has a master rod that connects directly to the crank. The other cylinders and there connecting rods are connected to holes around the edge of the master rod. Most radial engines have an odd number of cylinders to maintain an every other one firing order, insuring smooth operation.
