The “Nothing” trick is so named because you have no contact with the bike when this trick is in full swing. FMX is characterized by unique gravity-defying jumps, and this one certainly qualifies, as you have to defy gravity as well as your own need to hold onto the bike while airborne. Keep the bike moving at a steady speed and in perfect control as you climb, then leave, the ramp. If you feel that the bike is not in straight-line control as you come off the ramp, do not try to do this trick. Start pushing your legs up and back as the bike takes to the air, maintaining, a moment longer, your grip on the handlebars. Again, make sure that the bike is following a straight-line course to the landing ramp. Release your hands from the handlebars once your legs are extending back (or, if you prefer, in a split to the sides). Stay focused on the momentum and direction of the bike to keep it under you.
