What do the poll results reveal?
Higher education, particularly the cost of higher education, is an issue on the minds of many Pennsylvanians. When IssuesPA/Pew Poll respondents assessed their future, 8 in 10 parents (79%) with children under 18 said they were at least somewhat concerned about affording college for their children, and half (50%) said they were very concerned. Three-quarters (75%) of Pennsylvanians with sons and daughters aged 13 to 22 said college affordability is a problem for their family, and four in 10 (39%) say it is a big problem. The cost of higher education was more likely to be a big problem for single parents, large city residents, and minorities. How well is Pennsylvania government doing?
