What is Life imprisonment?
This is interesting, I don’t know about GB but in the US the individual states set the laws regarding punishment so there can be some big differences. However, most states have adopted the term “life without possibility of parole” to eliminate the possibility of some criminals ever leaving prison. Life sentences are usually restricted to unusually heinous crimes and habitual criminals. I should note that having to serve twenty years or more in a US prison is usually a life sentence as most people won’t survive that long.
