Scientists and Archeologists have put forward many theories about the causes of extinction of Dinosaurs. The main reason being that Dinosaurs existed about 6 million years before man actually inhabited the Earth. One of the main theories put forward by scientists is that an asteroid hit the Earth millions of years ago. It threw up so much dust that the rays of the Sun were blocked. The Earth grew dark, and as sunlight is necessary for life, plants began to die out. As these were the main sources of energy for Herbivore Dinosaurs, they also started to starve, and the Carnivores also died due to the lack of prey i.e. Herbivore Dinosaurs.
