Does Ntrans translate only names?
A. Ntrans is designed for translating names, however some of the most common English words that occur in day to day use in a database are provided. This accounts for words such as Street, Road, Lane, Estate, Chambers or Flats. Some terms and abbreviations such as behind, bh, opp, opposite are user-definable and hence the user can decide how he wants to gloss the words. This can be taken care of by the option of adding words to the personal dictionary, which takes care of many such things. Ntrans will NOT transliterate from ENGLISH, data other than NAMES. Do not expect Ntrans to “translate” or “transliterate” English words and phrases. If for example, you type “I will come tomorrow” NTRANS will NOT provide a “transliteration” for the phrase. This is because rules for Names written in English are NOT the same as those for English words.
