How does an air duct get dirty?

0

A. As the air flows through the duct and outside the vent, dust is trapped and attaches itself to the duct forming a sticky residue. This sticky dirt is created by A/C moisture. Dry particles also circulate and will collect in the ductwork, thus forming “dust bunnies”. Eventually this accumulated filth will turn to mud or mildew.
