Baby Boomers – Who Are They?
A Baby Boomer is someone who was born between (and including) 1946 and 1964. The name comes from the term “Baby Boom” which is used to identify a sudden increase in births following World War II. Different nations experienced “Baby Boom” after the soldiers returned home from World War II in 1946 that continued for the next eighteen (18) years. In United States, there’s almost twenty (20) percent increase in birthrate right after the World War II. It increased once more to another twelve (12) percent the following year. And in 1957, the birthrate peaked up to forty-three (43) million babies. There are more or less seventy-seven (77) million boomers in the United States, representing about twenty-eight (29) percent of the population.
