How Does MicroBurst Work?
MicroBurst is deployed as an overlay on the control channel spectrum of the North American cellular system. MicroBurst messages are transmitted over control channels using standard signaling mechanisms. Message data packets are routed automatically to and from the Aeris switching center over the SS7 (Signaling System 7) networks. The Aeris switching center identifies the service provider, the recipient of the packet data, and routes the data for delivery to the service provider via a backend TCP/IP link, using the Internet or a direct P2P (point-to-point) link.
