How Do You Make A PVC Greenhouse?
Making your own PVC greenhouse will save you money over purchasing an expensive, pre-built product. The frame is made from PVC pipe, an inexpensive material available at home improvement stores. Once covered in polyethylene plastic sheeting, the basic frame turns into a functional greenhouse. The frame should last several years. You may need to replace the sheeting occasionally, depending on your regional climate conditions. Clear a 12-by-15 foot area. Lay down black plastic sheeting over the area to prevent weed and grass growth. Lay down a bed of gravel 1 to 2 inches thick. Place 2-by-8 inch pieces of lumber along the two 12-foot sides and one of the 15-foot sides. On the fourth side, place two 6-foot lengths of lumber to either side, leaving a 36-inch gap in the center. Insert 6-foot lengths of rebar into the ground along each of the 12-foot sides at 36-inch intervals. Place the rebar to the inside of the lumber, leaving 48 inches of the rebar exposed. Slide one 20-inch length of 1-
