What is Blackboard (Bb)?
Blackboard is the software we use to deliver our online courses. This is commonly called a Course Management System. Instructors upload content for their students, manage grades, and complete other course-related functions. Students can access the materials from home or work at their convenience. Several types of courses reside on Blackboard. First, there are online courses. For us, an online course is one that never meets in person or is offered entirely online. Second, web-centered courses blend traditional class meetings with online content. Sometimes these are called hybrids. Third, there are web-enhanced courses or those that use Blackboard to supplement face-to-face teaching.
