What is The National Survey of Student Engagement?
The National Survey of Student Engagement is a survey specially designed for students like you to provide information about your undergraduate experience, including your views about the quality of your education and how you spend your time. The survey has a broad scope, with hundreds of colleges and universities of all types and sizes participating each year. But the main reason the university is participating is to learn more from our students about what you think and do so UofL can better serve our students by improving its programs and services.
NSSE represents a new approach to gathering information about collegiate quality on a national basis using a survey of good practices in undergraduate education entitled The College Student Report, administered under the auspices of the National Survey of Student Engagement project. The project gets at the heart of meaningful quality improvement in undergraduate education by focusing attention on educational practices that are empirically proven to be effective at producing high levels of learning and development in students. Funded by the non-profit Pew Charitable Trust, the survey is administered by a credible third-party authority with the oversight of a highly visible National Oversight Board.
