What makes VSA so unique?
VSA is the only organization in the world that brings together the arts, education, and disability communities to ensure that all people have access to the arts. VSA’s remarkable work brings the power of the arts into the lives of people with disabilities through educational programs, which engage the human spirit, excite the imagination, and spark the intellect. The Journey to Here online exhibit features highlights from a 25-year anniversary book that chronicles the difference the arts have made in the lives of individuals served by VSA and the programs which have served them. The ‘Arts, Disability and Expression exhibit’ explores the historical, social and artistic portrayals of people with disabilities as well as the many contributions in these areas made by artists with disabilities both through their use of disability as content in their artwork and individualized methods and materials used to make their art.
