How to make a french knot?
The French knot is a common embroidery technique in which the yarn is knotted to itself. First, bring your thread to the front, holding the thread between your left index finger and thumb–but away from the fabric. Next, point the needle away from the fabric and wrap the thread over and around the needle (twice for a smaller knot, three for a larger). Now, holding the thread tightly with the left hand, point the needle down and start to take it back to a few threads, making sure not to use the same hole. Once the tip is in the hole, slide the knot down onto the fabric while pulling the thread tightly with your left hand. Push the needle to the back of the fabric (all the while holding the thread down with your thumb.) To find more information click here: http://primrosedesign.blogspot.com/2006/…
