How Do You Reset A GFI Circuit?
You reset a Ground Fault Interrupt Circuit (GFI or GFIC) by simply pushing in a red RESET button. This can be difficult, however, if you can’t find the GFI. Until 1978, homes that were protected by a GFI circuit only had one unit that could be located almost anywhere in the house. Subsequent wiring codes mandated that additional GFIs be included in a home’s electrical wiring system.
