Texts are extracted from Closed Caption signals contained in videos. From analogue videos, texts are extracted from the line 21 field of VBI (Vertical Blanking Interval) if contained. For example, because domestic broadcasting news and some programs provide Closed Caption, texts are automatically extracted from those videos. Texts are also extracted from digital broadcasting videos and DVDs containing Closed Caption.
