Just remember that any tampering with the hardware–even just removing the faceplate–will void your warranty, so proceed with caution. Eject the memory card and the UMD (Universal Media Disc). Turn the device off and unplug. Locate the screws holding the device together. A warranty sticker will likely cover two of the screws at the bottom of the unit. Since you have to remove the sticker to get to the screws, there’s no way you can claim not to have tampered with the unit if you later try to make a repair under your warranty.
