What is Miracle Berry?
A. The Miracle Berry (Synsepalum dulcificum) is a fruit native to West Africa. It is also known as Miracle Fruit or Miraculous Fruit. The berry is red in color and has a subtle tart flavor. Miracle berries contain the glycoprotein, Miraculin, within the pulp of the fruit and miraculin plays an active role in altering how the mind perceives tastes. The glycoprotein coats the taste buds, temporarily changing their shape, which causes the taste receptors to interpret certain flavors differently.
