What causes an NC WISE system error to generate when sending transcript?
When a student from an NC WISE school requests an NC WISE electronic transcript through the CFNC system, the electronic transcript request is encrypted and sent to NCDPI for processing through the EDI system. Occasionally, because of transcript data issues, an NC WISE system error is generated. The error notification is delivered to NC WISE/SIMS Service Desk personnel. The Service Desk regularly monitors the EDI system several times a day for this type of error. When this type of error occurs, the Service Desk staff will attempt to determine the cause of the error. Usually, the error is caused by a minor data issue. The Service Desk immediately notifies the LEA or school data manager so that they can adjust the student’s data record. When LEA personnel make the adjustment, and notify the Service Desk, the request for transcript will be processed. The Service Desk strives to correct all errors within 24 hours.
