Painting fabric is fairly simple. I recommend practicing on a scrap piece of fabric first. I just used one of my husbands old white t-shirts. Make sure the onesie you will be painting on is pre-washed so it won’t shrink afterward. Lay all of your supplies out in front of you. To keep things from bleeding through on the back of the bodysuit, cut appropriately sized squares from a brown paper bag and place them inside behind where the design will be. Lay out some advertisements on the table to keep from making a mess everywhere. Fill up some old sandwich Tupperware containers with little piles of the different colors you want (trying to make sure they don’t touch and blend together). It only takes a little paint. Place the stencil on the fabric sticky side down making sure it is on well with no creases in the fabric. Use the yellow sponge to dip into the color you want and dab at the stencil.
