How Do You Clean Old Linoleum Floors?
Linoleum can be damaged by harsh abrasive cleaners. Repeated cleaning with the wrong products cause it to loose its luster over time and even crack. Linoleum is a nonporous surface that will not absorb the cleaner you use. Using a natural cleaner that you feel safe exposing your family and pets to is the best method of cleaning linoleum. Use your broom and dustpan to make sure your linoleum floor is free of all dust and debris. Fill your bucket with apple cider vinegar. Place your cotton rag in the vinegar and squeeze so that the rag is damp. Using elbow grease, clean your entire floor with the cotton rag. Place the rag back in the vinegar as often as needed; just remember to wring it out. Linoleum is a nonporous material, and excess vinegar will pool on your floor. Using a damp rag prevents this from happening. Allow to dry for half an hour.
