What was the corrupt bargain?
The corrupt bargain actually includes three separate events. The first event was the Presidential Election of 1824 where the House of Representatives decided on who won the election. The second event was the Presidential Election of 1876 where votes were disputed by states and Congress decided on the dispute. The third event was when Richard Nixon was pardoned in 1974.
