What is the purpose of the detent pin?
The detent pin adjusts the timing of the motor head pivot to the movement of the door. Operation: Door opening – motor pivots up and the pin goes into the motor bushing to hold it in place. Door closing: the pin slowly moves out to the left as the door is released. When the door has reached the ground, the pin is out of the bushing therefore releasing the motor. Only make adjustments on a properly balanced door.
