What Are Fibre Optics?
Fibre optics is defined as the use of optical fibres as a medium of communications. Fibre optics transmit information by the passage of light through flexible glass fibres. Electrical impulses and light follow a cyclical pattern of transmission and retransmission in a fibre optical cable. Fibre optic cables are glass strands that transmit information in the form of light impulses. Fibre optic cables can carry more information than the conventional copper wire. The signal is much clearer and faster. It is a high bandwidth method. The specially-manufactured filaments of glass used to make the optical fibre cables must be highly pure. The glass fibres are usually of about the same thickness as a single strand of human hair.
