Who supports restoring Sharp Park?
A broad coalition of community and conservation groups support Sharp Park restoration proposals, including San Francisco’s Youth Commission, the Harvey Milk GLBT Democratic Club, Arc Ecology, Neighborhood Parks Council, San Francisco Tomorrow, Golden Gate Audubon Society, Sequoia Audubon Society, Pacifica Shorebird Alliance, San Francisco League of Conservation Voters, The Yerba Buena Chapter of the California Native Plant Society, Action for Animals, and Transportation for a Livable City. Both the Bay Chapter and the Loma Prieta Chapter of the Sierra Club have resolved, when considering the future of Sharp Park, to prioritize the protection of the San Francisco garter snake and California red-legged frog, as well as recreational opportunities compatible with that protection. The Center for Biological Diversity and Nature in the City both support restoration at Sharp Park, and are primarily responsible for the existence of this website.
