How Do You Recycle Aluminum Cans Neatly?
Recycling is great for the environment and recycling aluminum is a great way to line your pockets if you live near a center that pays you for these materials. But storing your used aluminum cans can be messy and take up lots of space. Follow these steps to recycle cans neatly, cleanly and in a space-conscious manner. As soon as possible after each can has been emptied, rinse it thoroughly in the sink. This will wash away all of the sugar and other mess that can attract bugs and other pests. Shake the can out to remove as much liquid as possible. Wipe the outside of the can dry. Crush the can flat. First squeeze the sides of the can to make it easier to crush. Then flatten it with a can crusher or by stomping it on the ground. Keep the flattened cans in a lined trash can reserved exclusively for aluminum. Take the cans to the recycling center as soon as the bag becomes full.
