How Do You Pick A Cylinder Lock?
Whenever you are locked out of your home, it can seem frustrating, especially if you don’t own a spare key. Chances are, however, that your front door uses a cylinder lock, a simple enough lock to pick on your own. All you’ll need are two tools, and in no time you’ll be able to get into your house without causing any damage to your front door. Insert the tension wrench, or a small, flathead screwdriver if you cannot get a tension wrench, into the opening of the key hole and turn it in the direction that opens the lock until it stops. Hold it firmly. Insert a simple lock pick, it should look like the pick dentist’s use, into the opening, above the tension wrench. You should hit the first pin and feel resistance. Push up on the pin until it moves out of the way. It can be stubborn. Continue turning the tension wrench to apply pressure and keep the pin from dropping back into place. Move the pick farther in and on to the next pin. Repeat Step 2 with each pin till all pins are out of the w
