How Do You Drain A Fish Pond?

0

Ponds can be an enjoyable feature to have in your yard or garden space. Occasionally, due to unforseen circumstances, repair or simply wanting to move the pond, you must need to drain the pond entirely. As a result, you could use a bucket with no small amount of physical exertion; or you could take the smarter and easier way out by using a pump. Screw the hose barb fitting onto your pump. If you have a filtration system, you may be able to use the pump that you already have and avoid having to buy a new pump. Slip the hose over the barb onto the pump. Several feet of hose may be needed to ensure that the hose will reach from the very bottom of the pond to the exterior of the pond where the water will be pumped. Drop the pump to the bottom of the pond and plug the pump in, making sure that the hose remains outside of the pond. Pump all water from the pond using the pump and hose.
