How Do You Build A Twin Bed Frame?
A typical twin size mattress is 39 inches x 75 inches (86 cm x 190 cm). Fortunately, it is not difficult to build a frame for a mattress this size, and durable frames can be built inexpensively. This twin bed frame is a platform design, which means you will not need a set of box springs for the mattress. This also makes the bed lower overall, so it will work well in an area with cramped head space. Spread a layer of glue on one of the wide sides of a 12-inch 2 x 8 lower leg. Lay the lower leg on the side of one of the 19 1/2-inch 2 x 8 long legs. Position them so that both sides and one of the ends are aligned, giving you a single leg with a 7 1/2-inch notch. Clamp them until the glue dries. Repeat with the remaining leg pieces. When finished, you will have four identical legs. Take one of the 40-inch 2 x 8s and one of the 40-inch 2 x 4s. Apply glue to one of the 4-inch sides of the 2 x 4 and attach it to the 2 x 8, aligning one long side and both ends. Clamp the pieces together. Drill
