Acorn Computer Recycling Ltd originated from “Segedunum Computer Systems” a successful retail outlet based in Wallsend, North Tyneside. Specialising in PC repairs, upgrades and sales of ancillary merchandise, the business enjoyed an excellent reputation amongst its customer base since it was started, several years ago. As an advocate for green issues, Owner, Ernie Nolan, decided to project these objectives on a larger scale through the business to benefit not only a wider remit of customers but also the local community and the environment. The result was to add new focus to the business with the addition of business to business IT recycling services and local employment training opportunities to serve a wider social and environmental purpose hence increasing the impact of his efforts. With the help of local businesses, councils and professional organisations, Acorn Computer Services is now set up as a Social Enterprise with a dedicated focus of delivering lasting social and environment
