How Do You Clean A Pool Cue?
Pool cues tend to pick up dirt and oils during their day-to-day use. This buildup can damage cues and keep them from sliding smoothly across the table and hands, therefore affecting the player’s game. To keep pool cues in top shape, they need to be cleaned fairly frequently. The shaft, or lower part of the cue, is the section that requires the majority of the maintenance. Dampen a soft rag and rub the cloth over the entire length of the cue. Dry the cue completely to make sure the moisture does not warp or damage the wood. Wrap the cue smoother around the base of the pool cue shaft. Move the smoother gently up the shaft, applying little pressure. Repeat until the cue’s shaft feels smooth to the touch. Place the shaft in the leather cue burnisher. Applying some pressure, draw the pool cue’s shaft quickly through the burnishing strap several times.
