How Do You Clean A Crystal Vase?
Crystal is glass to which at least 24 percent lead oxide has been added. This makes the glass heavier and more brilliant; it also makes the glass softer and more fragile. Crystal vases come in all shapes and sizes. Some are fanciful; others are elegant. They are all meant to sparkle. Keep your crystal vases shining by washing them properly and carefully, without damaging the fragile glass. Make sure your vase is at room temperature. Extreme temperature changes can cause cracks or breaks. Fill your vase halfway with warm water, a small squirt of mild dish soap, 2 tbsp. white vinegar or ammonia and 1 cup uncooked rice. Use a wooden or plastic spoon to swirl the mixture for 3 minutes to remove the residue. Empty the vase of the mixture and rinse it well, inside and out, with warm water. Attempt to remove a stain by filling the vase with warm water and adding a denture-cleaning tablet. Let it sit until the stains disappear. Dry with a lint-free towel.
