BOCA RATON — A fire caused about $4 million in damage to a 5,500-square-foot house Wednesday night, a Boca Raton Fire Rescue spokesman said. Firefighters responded to a call at 224 Key Palm Road shortly before 8 p.m., spokesman Frank Correggio said. Upon arrival, they noticed that smoke and flames in the garage area were starting to come through the roof of the house. Crews quickly attacked the fire, but it had already spread through the attic and into other areas of the home, Correggio said. The blaze was under control at about 11 p.m., but a crew maintained a watch for hot spots throughout the night and into the early morning. No one was injured and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
