Did the FBI act wrongfully against the Branch Davidians at Waco?

No. Every meaningful claim made against the FBI regarding their actions at Waco are false. There were no flamethrowers attached to the tanks. There was no infiltration of the compound by snipers killing people as they fled the fire. The fire was started by David Koresh and his most devoted male followers. The evidence for this is the simultaneous ignition of several parts of the compound and statements like “should I light it now?” heard via microphones located inside the compound. The Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) tapes made by on-scene helicopters do not show rifle fire, they show reflections that often follow the helicopter orientation. No aggressor FBI agents are visible on the FLIR tapes, not because the agent have “blended into the background”, as is the common claim, but because they are not there. The question of pyrotechnic rounds is irrelevant because the one round that was used fell away from the compound and was as pyrotechnic as a road flare.
