Can I just purchase a stronger watt halogen bulb to get a brighter light?
A. XENON HID Kits are 35 watts while traditional halogen bulbs are 55 watts. Even though XENON HID Kits draw less wattage and current, they produce 4 times more light than halogen bulbs. Stores offer higher powered halogen bulbs that can be slightly brighter than stock, but they are still halogen bulbs and will not come close to what a HID Kit will give you. Be aware that a lot of sellers try to market their halogen bulbs as “HID Replicas” to make you think you will be getting similiar HID light output. However, this is not true and unless you buy a full HID Kit, you will not get the light output you want.
