On 3rd Septmber 2000 andy@kontron.demon.co.uk (Andy Lennard) wrote:- I was talking with our Informix help support people last week about this matter – as in what service pack versions are certified to what Informix products. If I remember correctly (and I was referring to the product we use here – Informix Dynamic Server – Workgroup Edition for NT): • version 7.30 TC7 was certified to SP5 • version 7.30 TC9 was certified to SP6 • version 7.31 TC5 was certified to SP6 Service packs are backwardly compatible – as in later SP’s include the updates of earlier SP’s – you don’t have to apply them sequentially. Also to note, if running a Windows NT network – if you have servers running SP3 and SP4 or later then you will have problems – in SP4 Microsoft changed the way security is handled making for synchronisation problems within domain – see M$ Knowledge base article Q197488.
