Why are companies going Green?
ADAM NEY: Companies are changing the way they do business because they have to. The marketplace and shareholders are demanding they do it. By “it” I mean embrace the triple bottom line: environmental stewardship and social responsibility with positive economic impact. The economic impact part is key. Companies can save on energy costs by becoming more efficient and doing lighting retrofits. They can also look at printing costs and paper usage. In the end, they can grab a lot of low hanging fruit, add it up and it amounts to significant savings, especially for a small business. They save money and the planet, all in one fell swoop.
