What is a mistrial?

0

A mistrial is granted when there has been a procedural error made during trial. A judge, attorney or a witness who has said or done something to prejudice a jury will also cause a mistrial. If a jury deadlocks, because they can’t reach a verdict, a mistrial is also declared.
