How Do You Fix A Screen Porch?
Screened-in porches are wonderful places for people to sit in the evenings and just visit with one another. Unfortunately, problems arise with biting insects when the screen is in disrepair. It is in your best interest and the interest of your guests to know how to fix the usual screen porch problems. Step 1 Buy screening and any other necessary materials at your local home improvement or hardware store to fix the problem with your porch. Step 2 Remove the old screen and holders. Be sure the wood that holds the screen is in good condition. Step 3 Clean any trash left behind by brushing it away. Clean holes and paint the wood porch frames. Step 4 Measure the screen area you must fix. Cut the screening with shears, leaving it 1 inch wider and longer than you need. Cut plywood pieces to use as base portions to go over the screen at the edges. Leave a small groove against the wood. Step 5 Use wood screws to attach the strips and screen to the wood frame.
